Hair Mask or Conditioner?

Hair Mask - Velvet Cosmetics

Hair Mask or Conditioner? We are often faced with this dilemma every time it comes to washing our hair. Let’s see how they differ from one another.

A conditioner utilises a fast-acting formula to give shine, mild hydration and volume to hair, acting on the surface of the hair cuticle. It should be applied after shampooing on damp hair, focusing on the ends of the hair, and let it work for up to 2 mins before rinsing it off. This can be repeated on a frequent basis, depending on the individual needs.

Hair mask takes it a step further and goes deeper in the structure of the hair, in the hair cortex, where it provides intensive care and deep moisturization. A hair mask should be applied after shampooing on damp hair, avoiding hair roots, and followed by a gentle massage around the head. It is recommended to leave it on for 3-5 minutes on damp hair or up to 15 minutes on towel-dried hair and cover our hair with a towel before rinsing with water for even deeper treatment.

And while the conditioner can be used on a more frequent basis, hair mask should be limited to once or twice per week.
